Abstract
The aim of this study is to introduce microprocessor controlled (MPC) knee and ankle-foot for the lower-limb amputees. In order to overcome drawbacks of passive prostheses, MPC prostheses have been developed and commercialized. Several sensors in the MPC prosthese detect and monitor the status of the prostheses and terrains, then microprocessor controls the motion of prostheses. There are several advantages in MPC prostheses such as higher safely, quality of gait, activity, energy efficiency, and function as compared to passive prostheses.
